Thanks to the functionality of OmyaPET, excellent opacities are achieved in production processes such as Stretch Blow Molding (SBM) and Biaxial Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET). For e. g. UHT milk bottles require high UV protection to secure long shelve life and to protect vitamins and thanks to OmyaPET the packaging requirements can be achieved at lower carbon footprint and with lower costs to produce.

A Wide Range of Applications

OmyaPET can be used in a variety of applications like stretch blow molding, BOPET, thermoforming as well as 3D printing/ PETG.
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is because of its excellent recyclability increasingly used for PET milk packaging. Nevertheless, there are challenges due to the high TiO2 content in mono-layer bottles or the black content in multilayer bottles. OmyaPET is a new, environmentally friendly and cost-efficient solution for the production of white opaque PET bottles, e.g. for UHT milk and fresh dairy drinks. Thanks to the functionality of OmyaPET, excellent opacity can be achieved in the stretch blow molding process and the requirements for UHT milk bottles using OmyaPET are met by adding a small amount of titanium dioxide.

OmyaPET Reduces the Carbon Footprint by up to 15%

Assuming 10% TiO2 is used in PET bottle production, as standard, and 7% is replaced by OmyaPET, the carbon footprint of the raw material mix is reduced by 15%.

In the production of white opaque biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film, it is important that the minerals have good dispersibility to avoid filter clogging and film breakage. Originally, minerals with a very high specific density and carbon footprint were used. However, with OmyaPET, films with a lower density and improved carbon footprint can be produced without compromising film manufacturing process performance. Thanks to OmyaPET, it is possible to produce BOPET films with identical opacity but at lower density.


To produce PET foams or more heat-resistant thermoformed goods, the PET must be nucleated. OmyaPET has features not found in traditional nucleating agents, enabling broader processing windows. OmyaPET enhances the opacity of the product as the concentration increases, allowing for pigment reduction.
OmyaPET has excellent thermal conductivity, which accelerates heating and cooling.


OmyaPET has an excellent heat diffusivity, which improves heating and cooling during the printing process.
Items printed with OmyaPET have lower shrinkage and appear more opaque and natural than unfilled PETG.
